CHRIST IS RISEN - MY THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS

         CHRIST IS RISEN

MY THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS

 LILACLADY JUNEBUG2

with notes from Wm. H. Cash Jr (1927 - 2012)

LET US CONSIDER THE FACTS OF JESUS' RESURRECTION

JOHN 20.29 - 31
29.  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast
seen  me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, yet have believed.
30. And many other signs did Jesus in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book.
31. These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, ye might have life through his name.

THE BIBLE GIVES US FOUR RECORDS

MATTHEW 28

MARK 16

LUKE 24

JOHN 20 and 21

IN ADDITION, PAUL SUMS IT UP THIS WAY:

                               I CORINTHIANS 15. 1 -  16

15.1   Moreover, brethren,  I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4. and that he was buried, and that he rose again the thir day according to the scriptures: 5. and that he was seen of Cephas (Peter) then of the twelve: 6. after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7. after that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 and last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.9 for I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 16. but by the grace of God I am what I am, and the grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
       ----------------------------------------------------------------

As I look at the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus I see what He said of His own death and resurrection:

Matthew 16.21   Jesus tells the disciples what would happen.
From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his
disciples, how that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer
many things of the elders and chief priests, and scribes, and
be killed and be raised again the third day.

Again, Matthew 17.22,23  And when they abode in Galilee,
Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be
betrayed into the hands of men: 23 and they
shall kill him, and the third day he shall
be raised again.

The third time that is recorded when Jesus spoke
was in Matthew 20 while Jesus left Galilee
to go along the Coasts of Judea beyond Jordan.
He is on his way toward Jerusalem.
Matthew 20.17 - 19
17. And Jesus going up to Jerusalem
took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and
said unto them, 18. Behold, we go up to
Jerusalem: and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto
the chief priests and unto the scribes,
and they shall condemn him to death.
19. And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to
mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and
the third day he shall rise again.

When Jesus arose and appeared before the eleven,
Mark's Gospel tells us in chapter 16. verse 14
that "afterward he appeared unto
the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided
them for their unbelief and
hardness of heart, because they believed
not them which had seen him
after he was risen.

Let us go over the FACTS
as given by the witnesses:

I. The Angel appears to the Three Women.
Matthew 28. 1 - 7
The three women,  Mary Magdalene, Mary the
mother of James, and Salome start for the tomb
and are followed by other women. They find the
stone rolled away, and the Angel speaks "He is risen."
Mary, the mother of James and Joses draws near to
the tomb, and the Angel gives her the command
to "go and tell the disciples"  Matthew 28.2
She goes back to the other women, they are bearing the spices.
Mary Magdalene meanwhile comes to the Tomb, weeping, and Jesus
reveals Himself to her.
Luke 20.14 - 18
He tells her that "I am not
yet ascended to my Father,
but go to my brethren,
and say unto them,
I ascend to my Father,
and your Father,
and to my God.

2. THE WOMEN TO THE DISCIPLES.

These women go to tell the GOOD NEWS !

HE IS RISEN !

On their way they met Jesus !

So here they come !   He is Risen !

John 20.19 - 20

19. SAME DAY, AT EVENING,
BEING THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK,
WHEN THE DOORS WERE SHUT
WHERE THE DISCIPLES WERE ASSEMBLED
FOR FEAR OF THE JEWS,
CAME JESUS, AND STOOD IN THE MIDST,
AND SAITH UNTO THEM,

PEACE BE UNTO YOU.

                             THE CAUSE OF SALVATION.
                         2. SO LOVED -   THE INSTRUMENTAL
                              CAUSE OF SALVATION.
                       3. BELIEVETH - RECEPTIVE CAUSE IN
                            SALVATION
                       4. NATURE -   FOR GOD SO LOVED

                  B.  LOVE OF IN  I  JOHN 3.1
BEHOLD, WHAT MANNER OF LOVE THE FATHER HATH BESTOWED UPON US, THAT WE SHOULD BE CALLED THE SONS OF GOD: THEREFORE THE WORLD KNOWETH US NOT, BECAUSE IT KNEW HIM NOT.
                                              I John 3.1
                         1.  MANNER -  BEHOLD, WHAT MANNER
                         2.  MEANING -  CALLED THE SONS OF GOD.
                         3. MEASURE -  THE WORLD KNOWETH US
                                NOT.
                C.  LOVE OF GOD IN I JOHN CHAPTER 4                                      1. ORIGIN OF LOVE - GOD THOUGHT IT. IT'S NATURE IS BORN OF GOD.   I John 4.7   Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
                       2.  GOD'S LOVE FOR US - GOD IS LOVE.
I John 4.8   He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love.
                      3. MANIFESTATION OF LOVE -  - GOD TAUGHT IT.  I John 4.9    In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
                    4. SACRIFICE OF LOVE-  GOD WROUGHT IT
I John 4.10.    Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
                   5. LOVE THROUGH US -  LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
I John 4.11    Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
                  6. PROOF OF LOVE  -  I John 4.12  NO MAN HATH SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME.  IF WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER, GOD DWELLETH IN US, AND HIS LOVE IS PERFECTED IN US.
                7.KNOWLEDGE OF LOVE -  I John 4.16
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.  God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
                     8. RESULT:   CONFIDENCE OF LOVE.   I John  4,17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
                    9. JOY IN LOVE -    I JOHN 4.18   THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE; BUT PERFECT LOVE CASTETH OUT FEAR: BECAUSE FEAR HATH TORMENT.  He that feareth is not made perfect in love.  I John 4.19  We respond in love to Him, for He has loved us, and fear goes out the door when we discover LOVE IS THERE.

             II.   LOVE OF CHRIST
                     A.   LOVE OF CHRIST IN I JOHN 3.1 - 2
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
                   1. BESTOWING - HATH BESTOWED.
                   2. SEPARATING -  WORLD KNOWETH US NOT.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.  v 5.Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure of his will.   v 6. To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

8. Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence.  9. having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he had purposed in himself:
10. That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will. 12. That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

JESUS PAID IT ALL
by    Elvina Hall   1820 - 1889

I HEAR THE SAVIOR SAY
THY STRENGTH INDEED IS SMALL!
CHILD OF WEAKNESS ! WATCH AND PRAY!
FIND IN ME THINE ALL IN ALL !

JESUS PAID IT ALL !
ALL TO HIM I OWE !
SIN HAD LEFT A CRIMSON STAIN !
HE WASHED IT WHITE AS SNOW !

LORD, NOW INDEED I FIND
THY POWER AND THINE ALONE
CAN CHANGE THE LEPER'S SPOTS,
AND MELT THE HEART OF STONE.

FOR NOTHING GOOD HAVE I
WHEREBY THY GRACE TO CLAIM
I'LL WASH MY GARMENTS WHITE
IN THE BLOOD OF CAL'VRY'S LAMB.

JESUS PAID IT ALL!
ALL TO HIM I OWE !
SIN HAD LEFT A CRIMSON STAIN !
HE WASHED IT WHITE AS SNOW !

AND WHEN BEFORE THE THRONE
I STAND IN HIM COMPLETE
"JESUS DIED MY SOUL TO SAVE"
MY LIPS SHALL STILL REPEAT.

JESUS PAID IT ALL!
ALL TO HIM I OWE !
SIN HAD LEFT A CRIMSON STAIN !
HE WASHED IT WHITE AS SNOW !

FOLLOWING THE SHEPHERD - I WILL NOT FEAR

FOLLOWING THE SHEPHERD - I WILL NOT FEAR

WITH THE LORD JESUS
AS MY SHEPHERD
I WILL NOT FEAR

The LORD is my Shepherd
I shall not want
Psalm 23.1

There is much today in the news of things
that portray a world of despair,
of discouragement, and
lack of hope.

Some will spend their time
writing about those things
which only aggravate the fears,
and accelerate the problems in
the hearts of those
who are ready
to accept
just what they hear.

I PROPOSE THAT JESUS MEANT
EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID
WHEN HE

I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD.
John 10.11
He said,
I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd
giveth his life for the sheep.

Now here it is in a world of
many opinions
and
many religions
and
much
ignorance
as to really
WHAT JESUS WAS SAYING.

Do you know that Jesus
is truly the only One
who could say that
and
who did that
even
as
He
declared He would.

When Jesus died on the cross,
he had no sin of his own,
and He had come from the Father
to show us How Much God loved us.

Because He died,
was buried,
and rose again the third day
His Resurrection
proves He is indeed the Shepherd.

He laid his life for the sheep, of
which I am one.

"All have sinned and come short of
the glory of God."  Romans 3.23

"For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6.23

Jesus said
"I am the way, the truth, and the life,
no man cometh unto the Father but by me."

I am committed
to following this Shepherd,
for He Alone is Able to lead me
guide me
and direct my footsteps
in this unpredictable
and unreliable world.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD,
I SHALL NOT WANT.

Watch my blog for things that you
might find the Shepherd as well.

As you have your next cup of coffee,
I leave with you the thought,
that Jesus said,
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them,
and they follow me." John 10. 27

Are you following Him?
I encourage you to first
become ONE OF HIS SHEEP.

JESUS AND SPIRITUAL BIRTH

YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN

                                                                        By  June Estelle Cash
                                                 BIBLEBUFFJOURNAL-BIBLELADY99CASH

JESUS WAS BUSY.   IT WAS THE BEGINNING OF HIS MINISTRY.

Jesus had been busy, proclaiming who He was,
and telling everyone that He was from the Father.

He even entered into the Temple,  and sent out

all the buyers and sellers with their animals.

"Take these things hence, make not my Father's

 house an house of merchandise."
[John chapter 2.16].   It was Passover time.

 And Nicodemus came at night.

The day had been filled with questions.  What sign will you give us? the leaders asked him ?hen they said,  "Forty and six years this temple was in building, and you will rear it up in three days?"   They had no clue as to what he was saying.
John chapter 2.21 to 23 tells us :  " But he spake of the temple of his body.  When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them, and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said."
So in the evening, when no one would know that he came,  Nicodemus came to inquire of Jesus.    A man of the Pharisees, he was a "ruler of the Jews".    A person of known leadership, yet he came that night.    "Rabbi,  we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him."
Are you a master of Israel and knowes
 t not these things?
Nicodemus was one of those who were LOOKING for the KINGDOM OF GOD.   And here now, Jesus, Y'SHUA, was telling him that he must be born into that kingdom.   He is listening.   He had seen Jesus cast out the merchants from the temple along with the animals.   Then he had sat and taught in the Temple.  He must have questions running through his mind.   He is distraught, because he knows the other Pharisees do not like Y'SHUA at all.   They are very determined to find his weakness, and to criticize.    Not Nicodemus.   He came, seeking.
Nicodemus would understand what he was saying about Moses and the serpent being raised in the wilderness.    The account is told in Numbers 21 that the people were again complaining and murmuring that "there was no bread, and no water"  even though they were receiving MANNA from heaven as needed, and even though God told Moses to strike the rock for water.    So God sent serpents among the people and they were being bitten by these.   Many died.   God told Moses to make a serpent of BRASS - which speaks of JUDGMENT - up on a pole.   So he did.
It never records what Nicodemus did.    I would like to think he did find Christ.   Scripture does not speak on this.    I do however, wish to say, that I know I have come into the family of those who are BORN AGAIN.   I found that reading God's Word watered my soul with living water and refreshing life because the Good News of God's love has opened my life to God, and I believed that Jesus is just who He says He is, and that He has become my Savior.    I am thankful that Jesus came to give us LIFE ETERNAL, LIFE EVERLASTING, and that He has given me His Spirit to live inside me that I may find Hope and Strength and Joy in my life.   His Spirit living in me is the way God has sealed me for Himself, that someday I will be with Him forever.

Jesus  replies "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
[John 3.3]. Responding,  Nicodemus asks "How can a man be born when he is old?  can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?"   Jesus replies, "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and
of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God."
[John 3.5]  He goes on to say "that which is born of the
flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.    Marvel not that I say unto you, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the
sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit.  [John 3.4 - 8].
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, "How can these things be?"
My heart fills with love for the Lord Jesus Christ as I continue on in the record of what He said to Nicodemus.    He knew Who He was, What He had come to do, and What was Needed for us to know Him.   He made it very plain.
Jesus responds to Nicodemus with these words:
Verily, Verily I say unto thee, we speak that we do know,
and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our
witness.    If I have told  you earthly things,
and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I
tell you of heavenly things? [John ch. 3.10,11, 12].

Then Jesus continues,  And no man hath
ascended up to heaven, but he that came
down from heaven, even the Son of man which is
 in heaven.   And as Moses
lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of man be lifted up, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish but
have eternal life.  FOR GOD SO LOVED THE
WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM
SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be
saved.   He that believeth on him is not condemned;
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God."   [John 3.13 - 18]

So Jesus spoke, telling Nicodemus out plain
what he wanted to know.   Nicodemus is just like us.
We hear a lot about the Bible,  about religion, about what some people believe either for or against Jesus.  Now
here Nicodemus knew a lot was at stake.  His people had been looking for Messiah, and the expectancy was great.   A great longing for a return of THE KING to set
up his kingdom.  Everyone knew WHO JESUS WAS.    THEY KNEW his lineage.   It was recorded in the Temple.   They knew of him as the Rightful Heir of the line of David.   They knew that this might be MESSIAH.  But they did not like what he was telling them.   They were looking for S I G N S  but He was telling them, He was
the Messiah and that He was from Heaven, and would go back to Heaven.  And that Life came from believing in Him.
Jesus went on to say 'And this is the condemnation that Light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest their deed should be reproved.     But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be manifest, that they are wrought in God."     [John 3.19 21].

They were told to LOOK AT THE SERPENT - AND THEY WOULD BE HEALED.

Nicodemus knew that the sin was represented
by the serpent on the cross. Now here is Y'shua telling
him that only by being born into the family can he see
the Kingdom of God, and furthermore, that He,
Y'shua would be lifted up just as the serpent was.
The Cross was why Jesus, Y'shua, came.
He came to be our once and for PASSOVER LAMB to bear our sins on the Cross of Golgotha. He came knowing what he had come to do was the only way
for us to be born of the Spirit.
